Sam Rice:                                                                                Enhance and Expand Your Practice and Teaching Using Props

Join Sam Rice for a 6-day immersion and exploration into sequencing with an emphasis on utilizing props and key actions.

Props and Key Actions are designed to give access to a deeper understanding of our bodies in relationship to the yoga postures.  Many times people think props are for making poses “easier”.  Props have the potential for so much more.  Props and Key Actions give the body a kinesthetic imprint to be weaved into a sequence to help poses come alive.  In this workshop, we will explore how the intelligent use of props and key actions can deepen your understanding of how your body moves in relationship to the yoga postures. This 6-day session will help you cultivate the skills to deepen your own personal practice and help others do the same.

Each day will begin with Morning Contemplation Practices.

Morning Contemplation Practices include: pranayama, mantra, meditation, journaling, philosophy and small group discussions.

We will follow morning practices with a 2.5 hour asana session.

After lunch we will have time to review the prop use and key actions that informed the morning asana session. We will finish the day with a short asana session and a long savasana to integrate the day.
